It occured to me today that I have nothing to do.
Well, that’s not entirely true. There’s lots of screwing around on the internet to be done, and I do spend an awful lot of time applying for work. On occasion, I use the computer for research, communication, banking, entertainment, employment, etc. Sometimes I even spend some quality time with my wife. But, outside of my computer and my wife, I’ve got nothing to do.
This shouldn’t be such a bad thing. In fact, it wasn’t bad at all until we moved. Since then, things have gotten a little boring. See, there are times when my wife wants to use my computer. This means that both of my entertainment sources are being occupied simultaneously, by each other, leaving me with nothing to do to stare at the ceiling (white and boring) or walls (hospital-pants-green, and similar in entertainment value to the aformentioned ceiling).
Used to be I could pretend to do homework, or cook, or clean, or play ultimate, or go find an alternate computer to surf the interweb with. Currently, all of those activities no longer apply.
This leaves me, a green wall, and a very white ceiling, sitting around for the better part of an evening… staring at each other.
I need a hobby…
…or perhaps another computer.
